So, are you trying too hard, Judith? You know, life shouldn't be hard. In fact, when things are hard, consider the possibility that perhaps you took a wrong turn.

Okay, where was the fox. I truly get that softening the eyes allows for a broader view of what is possible. Trick is to focus with soft eyes. Lovely reminder.

Katherine:

This is a wonderful post - I might have to work through an entire holiday weekend to do a massive list, but maybe it would be worth it. :D

Delighted to see you blogging!! You might enjoy my post on <a title="Leveraging Twitter to Engage" href="http://jessicaobermayer.com/leveraging-twitter-the-5-basics/" rel="nofollow"></a>. Hope to catch up soon, missing the Blondes' Lunches. :)

Susan, consider that even small steps towards clearing the clutter will have the same benefits that you've just described. For example, we all have a "junk" drawer, right? No telling what's in there. You can clean that out or organize it (so you can actually find what you're looking for!) in 15-20 minutes. Notice the sense of accomplishment you feel when you do that and all it took was a few minutes of your time.
I must confess that mail, etc. tends to stack up on my kitchen island and the only time it gets cleared is the evening before the maid is scheduled to arrive. One of the small changes I'm committing to is keeping the island cleared. Last evening I immediately sorted and filed the incoming mail and discarded papers so I could look at a clear counter. I felt a real sense of accomplishment and pride that's inspiring me to continue this new behavior until it becomes a habit.
What small thing that can be completed in 15 minutes will you commit to do that will create more space and energy in your life?

The clearing out of "stuff" really hits home. I've spent the last four years complaining about and being bothered by all the stuff in my small house. I made some small steps forward by clearing out items my daughter has outgrown and tackling the cluttered areas I see most often (e.g. the garage, the living room, the kitchen).

The sense of relief and satisfaction once the job is done continues for days, weeks, months...such a huge weight is lifted!

I look forward to reading more of your blog posts about this topic!

"Katherine the Great" - it was truly a remarkable, memorable and beautiful week-end. We learned, laughed a lot and were inspired by you and each other. The beach, music, workshop, lovely meals shared together, inspiring walks, amazing massages and always laughter and smiles on this journey to joy! How you make it all work with so many completely different women is your gift - I can hardly wait for RRR in November!

I'm preparing for my coaching call with Katherine. I have been a challenging, "prove it to me first" sort of client for Katherine. I've gone from skeptical and resistant (I can be hard headed and guarded - shaped in the clinical, scientific and business world) to grateful and eager. Now, while I'm navigating significant transition, I can hear Katherine's voice in my head.
Very simply put, I am very grateful for Katherine.

Katherine:

This is wonderful and I'm overjoyed to see you blogging! We all need reminders to focus on what we want, envision ourselves where we should be. The power of the mind is amazing.
